Mommy-hood...

Consists of feedings, diaper changes, outfit changes (between diaper leaks and spit up he's worn almost all his NB clothes) and trying to get the baby to take a nap (so I can get something, anything done). I shower late at night after his last feeding and when he's passed out. I eat dinner only if we come to my SIL's who graciously cooks extra for us (I do help the kids with their homework in the afternoon so she can get some chores done). I haven't washed my hair in...(oh God, I have to think about it...) days. I don't know how many. Shaved my legs? (now that I can finally bend over) Haven't done it yet. The only things I've washed are baby bottles. The dishes are piling up. (Not that there are many since we try very hard to not be home).

Don't get me wrong...I'm loving every diaper change, every spit up stained shirt that I have. He's not going to be this little for long.

I do however, get really cranky at 3am when the baby is wailing like he hasn't eaten in days (such a great pair of lungs he has) and my husband doesn't move. Like he doesn't here the mini-banshee in my arms. But I change his diaper and feed him and he's back to his quiet little self. He falls asleep in my arms and I transfer him over to the swing and I get a few hours of sleep. (He's back up around 7am). Tony usually takes over at the next feeding. (around 10am) so I can get a few more hours of sleep. (Like 2 or 3 really because I hear the baby fussing and I'm instantly awake).

He sleeps more during the day, less at night but I'm hoping to change that. How? I don't know. But I'll figure it out. He's only 3 weeks old you know?

I keep getting the 'don't hold him so much, he won't sleep on his own' and 'you need to stop letting him sleep so much during the day or else he won't sleep at night'. Um...he's not even a month old yet!! He eats/sleeps whenever he wants. I'll work around it. When he gets older, I'll get him on a schedule.

Sheesh.
